The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation was established in 1979 by an Act of Parliament. It is called the Immigration Ordinance. The sole purpose of the foundation was to ensure the safety and welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their families. This institution was established as a public sector foundation under the supervision of the Government of Pakistan.
The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation is responsible for monitoring all overseas Pakistanis and securing their repatriation procedures by collaborating with all relevant partners. Emergencies or natural calamities are also dealt with here.
