Introduction to the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)
The National Bank of Pakistan (commonly known as NBP) is a Pakistani government-owned global commercial bank and a subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan. It’s headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan. As of December 2022, it had more than 1,500 branches in Pakistan.
The bank offers various commercial and public sector banking services, including debt-equity markets, corporate investment banking, retail and consumer banking, agricultural financing, and treasury services. In 2020, the State Bank of Pakistan recognized the bank as a domestic systemically significant bank (D-SIB).
